This started the saliva to flow. I went to the KFC site and searched for a location near me. The map they returned showed the nearest location at 9.7 miles. That may seem close in the Midwest, but here in the Mideast that is a trek. I miss my 11 herbs and spices!
Usually my first meal at a place is Pizza. Partly because of my love of pizza, but also because a pizza, in a box, spreads the weight across the top of what ever make shift box I am using. Other foods put their weight all in the center which might cause the tape to give way, or the box to collapse, spilling food all over the place. Sucks having to clean up a mess when all your supplies are still packed
I remember when my parents moved to the first (and only) house they ever owned. It was over the Christmas/New Year break. On New Years’ Day I sat on a box watching bowl games on TV.
I used to love the Kentucky Fried Chicken’s cole slaw and then I would ask for the crumbs from their crispy chicken or Popcorn Chicken and I would get a big box of crumbs. You have to understand I was a poor person at that time and food was a luxury.
We have a KFC within 3 miles of our house and I still like their extra crispy, but Roy Roger’s Fried Chicken (1 mile away) and our local Lancaster County Amish Market Fried Chicken (1/4 mile away) are very close 2nd and 3rd.

1st picture brings back memories, loved to have my own place as a student. 2nd picture, not so much, I cooked my own meals mostly.

I don’t care what anyone says “I love KFC”. And I remember when you could only get it crossing the border! The off kilter orange bucket was a beacon!

Even though Scott wrote this one this was a true experience for me. KFC is my comfort food.

I just learned the McRib is back at McDonald’s. That’s easy lunch for the foreseeable future.

I remember moving out of our house in downtown Montreal in early 50’s, sitting with my mom on the stairs and sharing Swiss Chalet chicken
