2M0437b is quite large, hot, and distant from its parent star — that’s how astronomers were able to take a picture of despite it being 417 light-years away. The distance between it and its star is about 2.5 times the distance from Pluto to our Sun.

Keep that ’scope focused on it, Doc. Sooner or later, some monstrous old planet has to come along and change that diaper.

Just have to tip the hat to Tim Rickard for a strip that always strikes a perfect balance between being humorous and educational and somehow always doing it perfectly “G”-rated.

I think this is one of the few times Winky has appeared in the strip without receiving any spleen damage.
