The reason it’s sagging like that is because they couldn’t get Manchin (et al) to allow them to stuff it full.

And yeah, I know that there are some things that are harmful to your mantal health if you see them being made… and legislation is one such thing (so is sausage).

I think it is the quote often attributed wrongly to Otto Von Bismarck: those who like laws and sausage should not watch how they are made.

It’s more than Trump did for infrastructure, which was a big fat zero.

The GOP’s that voted against it will still want to have the bridges name after them or their friends.

I’ll bet every GOP rep and senator takes credit for the dollars coming to their state though.

What we got looks nothing like what Biden asked for. Put this limp sausage on Congress, if you need to blame someone.

One of the largest bills of any type passed on the history of the USA. Quite an accomplishment, diminished only by the incessant nitpickers.

Maybe if they let manchin put his name on the bill, the turd would have helped, not hindered. Just a thought.

The sausage may be made, but you still don’t want to know what’s in it.

For those claiming the law is pork and offers little real infrastructure, here’s an article from Chicago Sun Times showing how such funds will be used:

    https://chicago.suntimes.com/2021/11/9/22770777/rebuilding-i-290-project-eisenhower-expressway-infrastructure-jobs-safety-congestion-traffic-jam

Hmm, thousands of jobs created. A vital transportation artery improved. Public transportation options improved. Yeah, real pork … /s

like TARP this “bi-partisan infrastructure” bill really originated in the Senate. . . breaking the intent of the founders in the Constitution ….and putting undue pressure on the house to follow along . . .

This is all a ploy to drop the reconciliation package that the left insisted on tying to infrastructure. Maybe one day Democrats will pass their president’s agenda, but at the rate things are going they’ll never have power again so I guess we won’t have to cross that bridge.

And also thanks to decades of Democrats failing to deliver, that bridge may crumble to pieces before we even CAN try to cross it.
