When I started to be called “sir”, it really annoyed me! So i told them not to, it worked for quite a while!

The really tough one for me was when a young woman offered to load my roller duffel on the shuttle bus at the airport. Yes, I accepted her offer and thanked her. Gotta accept change.

Go to Baltimore and be a ‘Hon’…..

I love being asked for my date of birth at the checkout counter for an alcohol purchase. I suppose it’s required, but still…

Maybe someone thought she looked so good, she rans a house of ill repute.

There’s a lot worse words you can be called than "Ma’am.

I don’t think anyone has ever called me “Sir”, but I’ve never considered either that or “Ma’am” to be indicative of age, and I don’t have a particularly “commanding” presence.

But it wouldn’t bother me one way or another. I certainly don’t consider being of any particular age to be a something bad. And for what it’s worth, the same is true of all the women in my family.

This is just a rite of passage. The first time someone called me ma’am, I was in my thirties taking enrichment classes at a community college. It didn’t upset me, but it was just strange. However, to a person in their late teens, someone in their thirties does look kind of old.

I prefer Your Highness…..

I got called “Miss” last week, I figure he was hoping for a good tip. :-D
