I learned much of what I know about good English studying Latin for two years in HS. I almost always scored a “C,” but for one semester when the teacher bumped me up to a “B” for the scale model of a Roman siege device I made and donated to her classroom. I built it from a photo of a museum model.
I recall reading an essay about the difficulty of the English language regarding its rules. The writer noted there were approximately 250 rules for English grammar, and about 55,000 exceptions to the rules. No wonder non-English speakers feel like they’re swimming against the tide.

I was going to make a comment about panel three but it just sounded too pornographic.
