This reminds me of something similar and serious that I learned in CPR class. Most everyone witnessing an emergency situation reacts by “joining the uh-oh squad”, meaning they wander back and forth muttering “uh-oh”.
Someone has to take charge. Don’t say, “Someone call 911.” No one will; all will assume someone else will do it. Point to someone and say, “You! Call 911!”
