I’ve often found a piece of music that enchanted me, but when I studied it and understood what the musicians were doing and even learned how to make the same notes and chords etc. it lost much of its enchantment for me. Maybe this “Childlike Sense of Wonder” is like that.
Another example comes to mind: “a fish doesn’t know what water is because they are immersed in it all the time with no other experience.” Maybe a child just naturally has this sense of wonder, and as they grow up they lose it by too much mental activity and not enough attention paid to emotions. Can more mental activity get it back?

A childlike sense of wonder can be various things, but I don’t think I’d want to give child-confusing examples.

That’s one hard-working actor. Even when the script makes no sense, she sells it and delivers.

She did pantomime it pretty recognizably for someone who doesn’t know what it is.

You know it when you see it. And it can’t be manufactured.

Through the Eyes of a Child
The World seems magical
There’s a sparkle in their eyes,
They’ve yet to realize,
The bastards they really are….

I never lost my child like wonderment, misplaced it, but never lost it. As you get older many wonderments take its place but you never lose it.

Little concerned about Alice’s use of a Grawlix in her speech. Been reading Beetle Bailey cartoons and mimicking Sarge?

Alice was an Early Adopter of the Stanislavsky Method. But she needs to do some research on the meaning of the catch-phrase….
