Santa Claus such a brilliant selfless man. Being half LIGHT ELF (Svartálfar) he is able to live an extraordinarily long time. His ears should be partially pointed. Also, Elves are human sized as seen in LOTR. (Tolkien was unhappy at the turning of Elves into diminutive creatures during the Middle Ages when they were the size of humans and considered the best of what humans dream to be.)
Santa means saint. Claus = Klaus = short for Niklaus = Nicholas, which is, in English, often shortened to “Nick.” Santa Claus. Sankt Niklaus. St. Nick. The same name, the same meaning, all across the board.
Father Christmas and his counterparts deliver on different days according to folklore; the “Santa delivers all over the world in one night” thing is an oversimplification. (And for authenticity, Saint Nick should be Turkish. Different from the Light Elf raised, & hybrid, Kris Kringle.)

Not only does the gnome look like Ruthless, but Santa Dog bears a bit of resemblance to Jor-El.
