Well, live and learn. I’ve only known “boo-boo” to mean something like a minor, generally pardonable mistake. But according to the OED, the first attestation of “minor hurt or injury” is attested in writing some 20 years before the first attestation of the “mistake” sense. (Probably both were in circulation much before the first written attestations, they aren’t really literary terms.)
