I try to keep track of Christmas card givers and if I don’t get a card from them two years in a row, then I cross them off the list. That’s when I get a card from them. It’s very frustrating.
My parents used to do the Christmas card list ritual. It took up so much time and effort, and they fretted over who to send one to and who to drop. It always seemed weird, so I don’t send cards except for a very select few.
Christmas cards. What are those? Actually it was only a few years ago I’d have a collection of them by now from friends and family. I would have mailed out a stack of them on Black Friday. But this year I got one card from a friend and one from a company. I mailed one back to my friend and one to a family member who can’t get online easily. Sad passing of a tradition, the Christmas card.
I like getting real Christmas cards with a short hand-written note. (That’s what we send out). But mostly we get Shutterfly pictures of average looking grandkids, or the dreaded annual Christmas letter. My wife actually reads those!
It can be considered tedious during the choosing and writing, but it is worth it as one tradition that still means one person remembers and cares for another.

Of course,if you’re in the 1%, you don’t have to bother about paying taxes.

One of the reasons I don’t send cards. That and I’m lazy. I tried a few years, but I never remember.

You got a Christmas Card from Al Capone? Cool beans! He checks all three boxes.
