Like my uncle who’s doctor said he should use one of those meal replacement drinks but something got lost in translation because he drank one with every meal.
Faith healing depends on what you believe…..Andy is positive that ales cure all ails, and who am I to point out that he might not (just MIGHT not, mind you!) be perfectly correct?
Oh, and I know nobody here missed me, but I’ve been absent because my Dad died recently. (He was the kind of scientist who liked Benny Hill!) I couldn’t post normal (I mean, normal for ME) comments, so I didn’t post. I did post to political cartoons, because venting can lower the ol’ blood pressure, you know? But reading the comments on Andy Capp always made me smile (more often than the actual strip did, in some ways), and I’d like to thank the Cappers for that. And, yes, now I’m sidding down and now I’m shadding up.
I had my wisdom teeth removed over a semester break. The dentist had prescribed Tylenol 3 for the pain, which contained codeine.
Shortly after taking one, I was watching a basketball game & I got up to get a beer. I don’t recall any warnings to the contrary, & I drank it down with little thought. About half an hour later I was like Boy! That wasn’t the smartest thing to do!
Unfortunately I had a reaction from the COVID vaccine yesterday. I started shivering and then developed a fever which lasted all night. I barely slept myself. I have never had a reaction like that before. It’s a common side effect but it really knocked me for six. So I couldn’t face going to bingo today.
We don’t have the decorations in our sitting room yet but I do have a little Christmas tree in my bedroom that my neighbours gave me.
I am having my favourite nosh later. That will make me feel 100% again.

If that medication is Antabuse (used to treat alcohol dependency) Andy is going to feel sicker than he ever has in his life. Antabuse prevents the body from clearing the alcohol, and leaves the alcohol as acetaldehyde (toxic), which starts by making you throw up a lot, then moves on to making your heart race, heavy sweating, and making you feel like you are going to die. It can be fatal.Hopefully, the doctor is giving him something else.
