Trout is a little old for the imaginary friend thing. Must be parental neglect!

    No, they’re not imaginary… they’re just unimportant.

Trout is independent, a carefree creature of the moment, insouciant…. one could even say “irresponsible”, to some degree.

Agnes is needy… she longs for fame and fortune, and only the perfect man… ok, boy, right now, is going to win her heart forever, in her mind.

We’ve seen how quickly she abandons projects, but she believes in each one, truly and absolutely.

Trout, OTOH, is fine with impermanence and imperfection.

She’s seen her mother love ’em and leave ’em, and land on her feet.

She doesn’t let herself need anybody… the next train will be along shortly

Trout will find the right one, if only for 10 minutes, but they will be a glorious 10 minutes.
