That Hobbes….is a wizard.

“Tell me!” Calvin says. “I can handle it!” He says. “EWW!” He exclaimed, despite his “tough talk”.

When is old enough in Calvin’s case? When he’s sixteen? Then he’d be dating Susie Derkins.

No wonder i kept getting it wrong for so long. Always thought it was “oogie-boogie bips”. Thanx Hobbes.. will change course and see how it goes.

I think Hobbes has been hanging around too much with Calvin’s dad.

They’re even beginning to sound alike!!

I love the variety of expressions Calvin makes throughout this particular strip, and the one he makes in the final panel is my favorite.

Today’s strip shows one of Calvin’s more mature aspects. He asks Hobbes about love rather than making his usual comments about girls being inferior. It reminds me of that early Sunday strip which began with Susie and Calvin yelling insults at one another with smiles on their faces and then Calvin telling us “It’s shameless the way we flirt!” He went on to ask Hobbes about love in that strip as well.

A hint? Ok. “Calvin and Susie sitting in a tree!”

“Whaddya mean sophisticated? I’m sophisticated!” Alrighty then.

“I’ve never fallen in love, though I’ve stepped in it once.”

Okay, I’m sort of with Calvin on this one. …ick

I was looking at yesterday’s strip comments and there was a lot of talk about snow, while there is none at all here. I guess Watterson didn’t yet have his daily and Sunday strips back in sync yet.

If you are into S/M, it would be Snoogy, Woogy, whips.

Nice facial expressions on Calvin.

I’ve always wondered: when he goes home looking like that, all scuffed up and with scratches, what does he tell his mother when she asks: What happened to you?

When she calls you something that can only be a term of endearment. “Snoogy woogy wips” does not work for me, but she has other words that work.

Oh Hobbes, everyone things of clingy romances when talking about love. But what about the other kinds? Parental love? Friendship? Filial maybe?

What the heck is wips?

Love is a very brutal emotion, I found this out after 41 years of matrial bliss.

As funny as Hobbe’s comment is, it is not entirely without merit. Corny pet names are a part of courtship.

I’ve always preferred Sweaty Snugglebunnies!
