I have no idea what causes people to go out in the dark wearing Goth black. I get that sometimes, dusk catches up with you, but everybody who doesn’t drive everywhere should have at LEAST a reflective cap or sleeves or SOMEthing visible in your pack or pockets…
Most of the cyclists are just as bad, I personally light up like a Christmas tree if hit by a light beam, but I near took out a few over the last weeks that had no lights and were in dark attire.
That’s another realization that come with age. When you’re young you can easily spot road ninjas in near pitch darkness. I’ve recently realized that my eyesight isn’t what it used to be and that road ninjas can easily become hood ornaments. Assume the world is full of old fogies driving after dark, wear reflective vests…
My new favorite folks are the dog-walkers who have LED collars on their dogs. Some even have them around their own necks! Nice glow and I know exactly where they are.

Q- On a small, deserted island with only one tree, where does the ninja hide?
A- In front of the tree.
Q- Where do you hide the tree?
A- Behind the ninja.

I’d rather have the five people in dark clothing than the guy flashing the headlamp in my eyes.

Another situation with possibly deadly outcomes, and handled in the same way: some listen, some don’t.

One of the exciting parts of driving in a city is watching out for people wearing all black darting across the street at midnight.

Ninja cyclists! I hate them because I as a cyclist get blamed for their behavior.

When I was on the midnight shift I’d ride my bike to work without lights. Some those idiots are just looking for a target.
