National Chocolate Covered Anything Day. Well, as much as I love chocolate, I can think of several things that might not be good covered in chocolate. I just ate a very tasty, sweet, juicy orange. I wonder how that would taste if it was covered with chocolate?
Barbie & Barnie Backlash Day. On December 16th, Barbie and Barney Backlash Day allows parents to take a vacation from all the repetitive sing-a-longs and storytelling. While Barbie and Barney aren’t the only toys and television shows of childhood, these two do strike a nerve from time to time. The day permits parents to turn off the annoying cartoons and songs. Parents may insist on a different book to read at bedtime. Put away the noisy toys. If you dare.
Zowee! What a day we had on Wednesday, weather-wise. We had a high temperature of 67°. That shattered our record high for the day. But the real issue was the strong wind coming from the south. Wind gusts up to 70mph. I had to keep a very firm grip on my steering wheel driving to work and back home again. I could feel the wind pushing on my car. It is now 1:30, Thursday morning and it is still 57°. I have a bedroom window wide open to let in the fresh air. It’s a south window so that strong south wind is coming in strong. Today’s afternoon high is only expected to be around 37°, so I guess I can’t leave the window open for long. But it sure feels nice getting fresh air in the house!
Yes, another hopeful 10 Cats this morning! Our weather is so frustrating – 25 miles up the road the next town has had 2 beautiful inches of snow come down this morning – we have stoopid blue sky with a few flakes now and then. Seems we ALWAYS get cheated!
Long driving day. Up and out so early even Moose didn’t want to get out of bed. Picked up my sister at the hotel inVegas and headed east. In Gallup for the night. Going to finish up here then it’s off to bed.It turned cold up here; still a lot of snow on the side of the roads.
Glad that things seem to be taking a turn for the better. Santa will make things right. i don’t know how, but he will, I’m sure of it. On another note, saw a rabbit and seven juncos while out walking today.
