When I was a kid, neighbor’s large dog was quite unfriendly, didn’t bark, just showed his teeth and growled. I was there quite often and finally decided that I should just ignore that dog instead of shouting from the yard, I went to the door and knocked. Heard that dog approaching, the growling getting louder. Then he started licking my ankles. Not sure if he was getting ready to bite or wanted to be friends because the door was opened then.
