I’ve never understood why people look forward to Friday when you still have to go to work. Saturdays are so much better, for those of us that work Monday thru Friday.
I use the same motto as Ted’s with one exception. As I’m still preaching each Sunday, Saturday is a major prep day for the Sunday service. While a lot the days tend to run together, that’s not the case for Saturday and Sunday.
Everyday is my favorite. It’s good to still enjoy life and good people and good food. Don’t forget to take those darn pills Uncle Ted. Keeps us going around. Retirement = I can take a nap anytime I want too if the wifey has no where to go.
Uncle Ted is right to a point. However, it’s good to have a routine in your retirement, one that could include a work day or two (whether volunteer work or paid). Helps keep your mind sharp. I happen to teach a couple classes a week at a university. some may choose to create a comic strip, who knows…….
Some weeks are all Sundays. Sometimes I feel like I have 10 days in a week. Maybe 3 Fridays in a row. I am currently staying home as much as I can, and it does get boring to worry about what day it is unless I have an appointment. Maybe my brain changes the days just for fun. I never seem to forget babysitting day, so I really do know the day on some level.
Uncle Ted is right that when you’re retired, every day is Saturday. However, every day has its own feel (per an episode of Seinfeld) and only one day a week feels like Saturday—Saturday itself.

I always went to school on Saturdays. Even at the university, the first year, I had lessons on that day.

I don’t know about you, Teddy, but even in retirement, I’ve never had a doctor’s appointment on a Saturday (or Sunday).

I have mainly been a housewife for over 50 years, that means you never get a day off.

He’s living the dream. I’m 56, and it’s not looking like retirement is in the cards for me. I’ll have to keep working until I drop.

My school usually managed to keep us loaded up with enough homework to take up at least part of Saturday and possibly Sunday too….
