They have Christmas in July sales and December is too long to wait, so why not?
We had a pretty good windstorm today. Tomorrow is trash day ( of course) and the wind will continue in to early morning. That means papers and plastic water bottles in my shrubbery. Not to mention palm fronds everywhere. I saw 3 baby Cholla cactus stuck to my syn- lawn. I’ll use the tongs to get those off. They stick to the plastic hose nozzle when I drag it over the wall. Those things are lethal!
I remember as a kid, I thought Christmas should come twice a year. Twelve months was too long to wait. Now, Christmases sometimes seem to come too close together
Our sweet Oliver never fails to say thank you. BBC.com has an interesting article on Louis Wain – The Artist Who Changed How We Think About Cats. We finally got a token quarter inch of snow yesterday. The tail of that massive storm just couldn’t spare any more?
If Oliver wants presents in July, I will provide them. He’s too sweet to ignore.Moose had his xray and check up yesterday. He got a clean bill of health.
Though, to hear him tell his brother about it, it was torture.
First he complained that daddy stuffed him into a cage them drove him around for hours to a mean lady who stuck a giant glass stick up his behind. Then she carried him to a torture chamber where she stretched him out so she could beam burning lasers at his belly. After that, a man pried open his mouth and rooted around in there. He was lucky to make it out alive.
My daughter’s calico kitten was spayed a week ago and had to wear the dreaded cone. This is what my daughter came upon after ‘the cone’ was removed last night:
Wouldn’t mind if Christmas was actually in July instead of December. July has better weather. Sick of all this awful snow. On another note, saw two towhees, a finch, and a sparrow while out walking today.
Back in the 50s when I went to Girl Scout camp every summer, we always had Christmas in July on July 25th. It was the high light of camping. Decorating a live (in the woods) tree and small gifts to exchange.

Oliver has a poor concept of time, too, so he won’t know the difference.

Cut Oliver some slack – he’s only a baby, after all.
