The story about how a bumblebee can’t fly is a lie anyhow. A French entomologist in the 1930s applied the physics of airplanes to bees and thus “proved” that a bee can’t possibly fly—ignoring the fact that an airplane doesn’t flap its wings. The physics is entirely different.
But those who would rather believe that wishful thinking trumps science have continued to parrot the myth that the only reason the bee can fly is that it doesn’t know that it can’t.
Based on old misunderstanding of how bumblebees fly, unsupported by recent science but still a popular anti-science myth. Just Google “bumblebee flight impossible” to find a lot of explanations.
Bees couldn’t fly IF THEY WERE FIXED-WING. Just like helicopters couldn’t fly if their “wings” (the rotors) did not move. And there is no practical way to get enough thrust out of a bee-sized engine to make them work IF THEY WERE FIXED-WING. (Also they couldn’t soar on the wind like a vulture.) But since real bees move their wings really fast, they fly.https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/bumblebees-cant-fly/

Testing revealed that honey bees have the capacity to understand the concept of “zero”. I’ve run into some people who seemed incapable of that.

I had a Calvinist biology Prof my first year in college. He insisted that only humans could think. Every other animal only operated on instinct.
