I feel the same way. I don’t like snow. Lou Grant described snow perfectly on an episode of “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” years ago. I don’t remember his exact works, but they were my sentiments exactly.

Speaking of today being National Bird Day, can anyone help me? A woman recently told me she just saw a swan on Lake Michigan. I was a bit skeptical, but then I saw a very large white bird swimming in the pond in the park. It had caught a giant goldfish (koi, I assume someone’s pet fish that they put in the pond) and was struggling with it. I did not have my camera or binoculars with me, so I had no zoom lens to see it closely, but it appeared to be all white until it spread its wings and saw it had light gray wing tips. I’ve been looking online and cannot identify it. I would say it was at least as large, probably a bit larger, than a Canada goose, but smaller than the trumpeter swans at the zoo.

Annie gets cuter every day. That nose and those freckles -- adorable!

“What’s New, Pussycat?” I can just hear them: Ohhh, a-OOOH, a-Oooooh…

How about “Cats in the Cradle?” Actually, maybe not. That wouldn’t sound good being good by someone who’s swacked. (Learned a new word today.) On another note, saw four wrens and three golden crowned kinglets while out walking today.
