It is rough not being a cat!

Today is:

National Take Down The Christmas Tree Day. I took mine down on Monday

National Technology Day. We use technology every day. Even the phone is a form of technology. So is the TV. And the radio. And the computer. So many advancements over the years!

National Cuddle Up Day. Every day is Cuddle Up Day with my kitties.

National Bean Day. My favorite beans are jelly beans. Especially the orange and red ones. And purple too,

National shortbread Day. I was thinking it might be nice to bake a loaf of bread, but I wasn’t thinking of shortbread.

Oh, and one more. It is also Inventory Day at my Walmart. Just 3 days ago, we didn’t look close to being ready. But we got associates in from other Walmart stores in the area to help and by the time I went home from work last night, the store looked pretty darn good. I think we’re as ready as we could be. But we barely have time to breathe a sigh of relief that inventory is over. We begin a big remodel on Sunday night. We’ll be moving around a lot of departments. Sounds like fun. NOT!!!

Crawl in with the baby and join your yowling with his howling. Somebody will be along to see what all the noise is about.

One could say he’s had an epithany…

Carson City was nearly 60 degrees yesterday and all the snow has melted except in some shady spots. But Genoa, only 15 minutes away, is tucked up against the mountain and still has several inches in town so my trip is not disappointing. And the drive up was stunning, so much high elevation glistening snow.

We had to make a WalMart run yesterday for fresh fruits and veggies. They were putting out all of their Valentines’ stuff,including cookies.

Today is the feast of the Epiphany, celebrated as the revelation of Jesus to the non-Jewish world (i.e. the “Three Kings.”) It is also the day that most orthodox Christian churches celebrate Christmas. So we always leave our tree up through the sixth.

There are a lot worse things than not being a cat, but yeah, that’s still a real bummer. On another note, saw a raven, two finches, a chickadee, and a golden crowned kinglet while out walking today.
