I used to be a cabinet and countertop installer. And we did a lot of flat-lay counters. Contact cement in those days used a very potent acetone-base that would dry quickly, even in unheated new houses. People would occasionally ask me if I enjoyed getting high from the fumes. My answer was always “It gets me LOW!”
I used to work at a cinema, where we produced our own popcorn (and no, popcorn normally isn’t made at the front counter, that’s mostly just for show). After a day of making popcorn we used industrial barbecue cleaner, that we then cooked in the popcorn makers, to get rid of the burnt sugar. I don’t know what’s inside that stuff (probably chlorine and some acids), but it’s hardcore. We had to leave the room while it cooked (windows wide open ofc), the fumes were pure chemical warfare. That was years ago, I still can’t eat popcorn at a cinema (mostly because I know how much sugar is in it) and I still recognize the smell from three blocks away when the cinema is making popcorn again.
While replacing the rotten copper plumbing in my home with pvc, the crawl space was very low so I had to work on my back. Not thinking of side effects, I kept the open bottle of pipe sealant close by where I could reach it without having to move. After a while I began to notice the insulation had turned from pink to a rainbow and the egress hatch began changing sizes. Luckily I realized it in time to get out. After that I placed a house fan next to me and that seemed to clear the air.
[ That was 40 years ago and I’m fully recovered now . . . aren’t I? Or did that 2016 election thing actually happen the way I remember. The subsequent four years aren’t all that clear. :} ) ]

Frazz didn’t wear a respirator, or take the desk outside to clean it? That’s not very Frazz-like.

Did anyone see Frazz “all goofy” after Caufield said he had an “alcohol problem” ?
