He was just trying to be fun (and funny). Apparently no one here has a sense of humor. They seem to take their skiing way too seriously.

I thought those were for cutting off other skiers.

Hey, if they chose to be more concerned over that dorky hat, than a little yellow, bug-lookin’ alien, and Stick Man skiing down the slopes… then I’d say that it’s got to be a pretty bad hat!

I suppose people that dedicate themselves to anything they take seriously, and have pride in, don’t care for someone else indicating, or worse proving, that any fool can do it. People are touchy that way.
