When much younger, I was very much into baking. I still enjoy watching that British baking competition on PBS. Though I was never in their league, and now I can only muster a pineapple upside down cake with a yellow cake mix, I still enjoy the process they go through. I guess I’m all for shortcuts. I have a recipe for an icebox fruitcake that’ll change your view of that smelly doorstop.
However, some of those desserts look pretty darn good and the show IS better than 90% of the rest of the stuff I watch. So, I’m not really in any hurry to find it……
It is still possible to change the channel without a remote on most TVs, however, you often have to read the manual to figure out how to do it. It may be hidden in a menu system, if the manufacturer “cheaped out” on buttons.

UncleTed should remember the times you had to get up to change the channel.

Besides there’s no sense having something good on when it’s time for you afternoon nap.

He’ll doze off, then wake up wanting a donut. That’s usually how things work for me.

That just doesn’t happen to me. I never watch anything I don’t want to watch, but there are some cooking shows I will watch.

WHY don’t they make a button for the TV that alerts the remote to beep so you can find it??

I like those baking shows sometimes. The Magnolia Network (formerly DIY) has reruns from the 1960s of The French Chef, which I find entertaining.

I hope I never get that decrepit/lazy/easily entertained…

That happened downstairs last week. Black seems to be the colour ordained for remotes but it just makes them disappear.
