This winter, no matter where you live in the United States of America, it’s wise to be prepared with extra food and batteries. Having/updating a will is a good thing regardless.

There are a few days of snow and extreme cold predicted for this week here

I stock groceries, and expect to be very busy the next few nights

We are prepared for the zombie apocalypse or The Big One; whichever comes first.

It seems that all meteorologists and weather reporters have a flair for the dramatic.

I have to live with this for most of the year down here in FL. Every time it clouds over, some idiot on the news is screaming that The Day After Tomorrow is coming.

Calmly prepare. In fact if you live in a place that gets these sorts of things on a regular basis, like once or twice a year, or anytime during the winter, or you are in hurricane country, have ready stock of supplies built up before hand during the months ahead. We always make stock from the Thanksgiving turkey and the periodic chickens and beef with bones we consume. I am soaking peas for split pea soup tonight. Not so much doomsday prepping, but enough for a week or so. Slowly stock up during the pleasant weather and you will be able to stay inside and not panic during the bad weather. Unless you see Jim Cantore, then you are SOL.
