You could always share…or get one like Clark Griswold had in Christmas Vacation movie!

Wonder if they should ask if they could get another one in order to not fight over this one each winter.

It’s all in the way you ask, of course he’ll want the “good” sled.

    Two words, Katie… Ski Wax.

I always liked saucers and toboggans; like life, you can never be quite sure of where they’ll go.

Kate is lighter so it won’t sink as much.

I used a saucer as a kid, and it worked great. Plus, the “good sled” is a toboggan, and has ample room for two little kids. Not that either of them wants to share.

Hmmm, I wonder which one of them will end up in the hospital.

Looks like she needs Clark Griswold’s non-caloric, silicon-based kitchen lubricant.

Before we vacated the north for the desert in my youth, we used to have the super cheap toboggans: it was a sheet of plastic with a handle punched into it, and it came in a roll. While you could sled with it, it was no Radio Flyer. :-)

Really, Clayton, don’t you know by now that your sister will get back at you? And it won’t be pretty..

Katy needs to get some non-chloric, silicon-based kitchen lubricant. She’ll slide right past Clayton in a flash!

Like his plastic sheet is going anywhere until they’ve packed a trail down with multiple runs, if it’s that deep.

I never saw a saucer sled that didn’t end up going down the hill backwards, when it would actually go down the hill. Give me a good ol’ Flexible Flyer every time. Face First down the hill. Maximum speed with minimum steering. Just the way I like it. Sort of like my marriage. Lasts longer though.

Not how I remember saucers. They were faster than the sled, just had trouble steering.

So what’s funny in this strip? Two kids acting like many adults today – those whose level of maturity never got past the breast-feeding stage.

Flying Saucer snow sleds, if you can find one that doesn’t have a raised design molded onto it, make EXCELLENT Beystadiums. I have one that I’ve been using since the early 2000s with the first generation of Beyblades. At the time I couldn’t find any that didn’t have designs on them, and spent a week sanding a raised “snowflake” design down. Worth it though! Way more sturdy than the vacuum formed Beystadiums of the time. The ones they’re selling now are a lot more expensive and look more sturdy, though I haven’t needed to buy one of those yet!

“Back in the day (I always wanted to say that!),” nothing beat the wonderful “Sears and Roebuck” 6’ wooden toboggan, piling as many as possible on it, or, as “Unnamed Reader” said, standing on it, holding the rope, and going for broke! Fortunately, nothing got broke! :)
