Baby Blues by Rick Kirkman and Jerry Scott for June 08, 1996
Transcript:
I don't remember my parents coming to birthday parties when I was a kid. Me either. My folks used to dump me off and pick me up a couple hours later. Mine, too. But these days we all stand around making small talk with other board parents pretending to enjoy ourselves. This isn't a birthday... It's a cocktail party with kids and cake. All of the boredom and none of the booze.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I’d rather have cake than cocktails.

I got dropped off and picked up. There were balloons on the door where the party was held. Best part? The take home bag!

Question: Did the invitation actually say “Parents welcome?” Perhaps you’re party-crashing helicopter parents.
