Think of your e-reader (not your phone — the horror!) as your electric book. It’s pretty hard, so I suppose that you could smack people with it too.

In an S.J. Perelman piece about Steve Allen, I believe it was, there occurs the apposite sentence. “I found Allen’s dressing room, Allen was wearing a bathrobe and holding a copy of Lord Keynes’s ‘Economic Consequences of the Peace’, with which, Allen informed me, he had just killed a roach.”
