I told a friend recently, whose kids are quite a bit older than me, “I didn’t know the depths of impostor syndrome until I had a child.” She was sympathetic.
I heard a joke once about a man who was on the lecture circuit with a talk titled “Fifty sure-fire ways to raise happy and successful children.”
After his first child was born, he changed the lecture to “Twenty-five ideas for raising good kids”
After his second child, it became “Ten tips to help your parenting”
After his third child, he got out of the lecture circuit altogether.
