I used to know a guy who would have blown his stack at Lucy. Not for taking the soil for her plant, but for calling it dirt. He worked as a soil scientist for the US Forest Service. If you called it “dirt,” you would get an angry lecture about how you could have dirt under your fingernails, or in your clothing, or on your shoes, or on your face, but if you want to grow something in it, it was soil.
So, maybe now, when Charlie goes to level off the mound to get rid of the cut, he’ll end up with a mound more his size. Afterall, it’s supposed to be a pitcher’s mound, not a pitcher’s mountain.
I was wondering how she scooped the dirt in that shape, then realized she probably just used the pot itself. Still, I got a bit of a chuckle out of imagining Lucy taking a giant ice cream scoop to the pitcher’s mound.
She could of at least a smoothed out the area, which probably would have meant lowering the mound a little….but then again it’s Lucy….why should I be shocked

I wonder if Lucy’s new plant happens to be a pitcher plant?

It looks like someone took a bite out of the pitcher’s mound.

Grass doesn’t even grow on a pitchers mound, might not be the best choice for a flowering plant.

Why’d you bring a plant to the field?

The opposing team will have to pitch from that same spot at least Charlie can compensate for it..

I am much more sneakier than Lucy. I would have taken the dirt, but spread it around afterwards so you couldn’t tell.
