(Honestly, you’d think the People were deaf! I mean, one can’t expect cat-level hearing, but honestly! It’s been at least five seconds since she woke up!)
Once again Elvis shows his dedication to duty. (Both to his own duties, and to reminding others of their duties, which include comforting children and getting up to feed cats.)
Elvis, I don’t know how you manage to put up with these horrible neglectful humans. You should consider leaving. Remember the lastTime you tried you had a wonderful time. You made a new friend, you got to sleep in an impossibly small box and you were so excited to see your first Tommybaum.
Our cat Freckles used to do this with our daughter. Only I’d wake up in the middle of the night hearing her laughing and talking to him. She was about 3.
Elvis owning the Dad-Cat name was awesome the first time and it’s awesome this time. Hopefully Mom-cat will bring the cavalry. Apparently in real life Georgia helps quell fear of monsters by reminding the kids that Elvis would never stand for anybody strange in the house. Hopefully it’s effective.
My childhood cat, Blackie, who was actually called “Mother Blackie” by my parents, would sleep on my pillow and purr and knead my head if I cried. Even after I left home as an adult when I’d visit she’d edge her way into the guest room and sleep on my pillow. Good cat!
My cat Katie will (apparently) occasionally have nightmares, wake up meowing and have to come and find us and get reassuring cuddles. Other times she’ll do the same thing but much more cheerfully, like she’s telling us all about her dream.
It’s not really important, but I just needed to vent about my cat. Her name is Angel, but she sure as heck is not an Angel….:(
I can’t believe we actually got into a real physical fight! I was minding my own business when she just walked up to me and bit me! I wasn’t doing anything to her! After she bit me, I looked at her and asked her “Why did you bite me”, she bit me again and I got upset and told her to go to her bed and she actually attacked me! I was defending myself and lightly smacked her butt and we got into a little tussle. LOL….I think she enjoyed it, but I didn’t! Is it it tusslemania time for the BCN cat?
I’m not making this up, she did attack me…..and I’m slightly scared of her.

Parents are currently trying to find the light switch before running into the dark due to last week’s hairball incident. Nice work, geniuses.

That Elvis….cannot stand by when his little princess is crying her eyes out. I like the way he sprang into her crib to offer her comfort.

Elvis, it takes time for Humans to move from room to room. More than five seconds anyhow.

My late, lamented tuxes consoled me when I had nightmares. Honor does it now.

“Go wake up her rotten, neglectful parents.”
You know I always love BCN, but ya just really gotta love someone who can write a line like this about their own fictional self.

Elvis, purr very, very loudly so the Girl realizes you’re there!
cat19632001 almost 3 years ago
Hurry, Puck. You might need to unsheathe the Claws of Encouragement to get these “rotten, neglectful” parents out of bed to do their duty.

No particular tune
I just had a scary dream!
And now I just wanna scream!
Things are not always what they seem!
So I’m gonna scream!
Elvis is here to comfort me
He’s as fine as a cat can be!
We make quite the team!
As I do a scream!
I’m not really afraid anymore,
But sometimes I just get bored,
And when it’s too quiet as it seems,
I like to scream!
(Actually, I’d like to read a good book, but I haven’t learned to read yet)

Dear, departed Bob-cat was our eldest son’s cat from the time he was born. Always slept with him and was very protective, like Elvis.

How does Lupin know the Girl had a nightmare? Maybe she needs to go potty or just wants her Dad-Cat, aka Elvis.
