Judging from the look on the Boy’s face,he was about ready to go grab his parents himself. Probably with all the indignation a child who’s grown up around Elvis can manage.
And I LOVE Elvis letting himself be manhandled by the Girl and used as a calming plushie.
Question – IRL, is Elvis a typical vocal Siamese? I don’t remember it being addressed, and don’t see it in “meet the reporters.” Has Georgia said, or should we presume he’s a typical Siamese? We live with 2 very quiet, good boys, and I sometimes wish they would speak up instead of jumping in front of the computer when they want out!
OT: we have 2 new baby Boer goats as of Monday afternoon. It’s so cold in E WA that they are in the house with us for a couple nights.
This morning’s Public Service Announcement …. The Burt book is delayed again :-( BUT, Book 6, starring Puck, will be out in September :-) Presumably announced on FB and Insta, but for everyone, here is the link to Dumpor …. Use arrow to toggle between cover photos.
Meanwhile Puck settles down to try and get some of his necessary sixteen hours of sleep after that exhausting effort (HOP, HOP, HOP!) to get the People up.
I love Elvis comforting the Girl and his indignation on her behalf. I’d say Woman to the rescue, but that’s definitely not the media’s take. I know Goldie is buds with the Boy, so hopefully she’s offering more than just the latest news. I also love Burt in panel one reminding us just why this is happening.
OT: thanks to all who sent sympathies yesterday about my brother Ian – they, and all the purrs, were much appreciated. My cat Medb (Maeve) was especially cuddly yesterday (though her brother Loki was his usual superior self); maybe she somehow knew – Alison
If you can suggest to your child, as they grow older, to use a few lucid dreaming tricks, like sprouting wings during a dream fall, it will give them control over their fears. Won’t work for everyone but it’s a great gift. I believe that “fairy tales” can be useful for their imaginative approach to escapes.
And the Boy didn’t jump out of bed & go running to the big People’s room to complain, or at least holler “MOM!!! DAD!!!” at the top of his lungs until they came running (or even hug his li’l sis to help her calm down), because…???
O dear, odear. There’s an ice storm here today and it’s supposed to go through tomorrow. The neighbor cat showed up this afternoon about 3:30, with ice in his fur. I let him in, dried him off, gave him some food and, as I always do, offered to let him back out. He just lives a few houses away, I think. And he doesn’t want to go back out. So now he’s ensconced in the kitchen with a litter box, food and water and a bed with a towel in an impossibly small guest box. He’s presently sleeping in the dead, dried remains of the catnip plants which are in a big pot of dirt. He looks happy. My other cats are suitably outraged and I expect retaliation. I know he’s got a home but I just can’t force him out in this weather because who knows but what his owner isn’t home or is indisposed and the cat needs a place to crash. He’s a storm tossed traveler.

Katrina and the Waves: Walking on Sunshine
I thought it was time to be asleep, now I’m not so sure
How long will it take the Woman to walk through the door?!
Now we’ve all been up for the past ten minutes, it seems like an hour!
And we can’t wait for the Woman to come around!
…….
A few hours until sunshine, wooah!
Few hours until sunshine, woooah!
Few hours until sunshine, woooah!
And it don’t feel good!
…….
Girl, you know that we all love you, you know that it’s true,
And Woman, it seems like forever we’ve been waiting for you!
We all want to get our sleep now, before 4 am,
It’s only a few more hours until dawn returns again!
…….
A few hours until sunshine, wooah!
Few hours until sunshine, woooah!
Few hours until sunshine, woooah!
And it don’t feel good!
