Aside from the hardware department at my employed grocery store, there is a regular, independent hardware store within walking distance from where I live; it’s on the same complex as a different grocery store to which I at times frequent.
In the future they should change to a calendar with 364 days (52 weeks) in each year and a leap week every five or six years! Then every day of the year would be the same day of the week every year, and we wouldn’t need calendars…
Pluggers live somewhere new hardware stores open? They weren’t taken over by the local megamart?
(I remember the last local hardware store where I live used to have parking spots reserved for the Phantom, and Mandrake, and Popeye, and so forth, though I never saw them park there, or anyone else respect the signage)
We have several calendars in the house and the one on the refrigerator is our planning and scheduling one. A situation like that mentioned would be posted to the appropriate day with a dashed line to a week later after the initial crowds have dispersed to go check it out.
Pluggers spend hours keeping up with the inventory of their local hardware store. Not just for solutions but inspiration. Free popcorn in tiny bags helps. Pluggers also have a tooth pick or two in their flannels pockets. Or they know how to fold a piece of paper to make do.
I just wanna know where the new hardware store is! I hate the box stores. I want to go where the folks working there know how to change a flapper valve without reading a package.
Have a wall calendar in the office -used to be from a historic restoration we donate to annually. But they got cheap and were not sending calendars for 2022 – then sent a small one, so we put up the calendar we get annually from another historic restoration we bought annual tickets from once – and have received a free wall calendar annually from them since. Husband emailed this on a discussion group from the one we contribute to.
BUT – our main calendar is the one in my computer and the one in my cell phone (they are not linked). Recently I was forced to buy a new cell phone (wrong kind of 4G which is either discontinued or will be by the end of year same as the 3G discontinuance) and my old calendar does not work with the new phone so we will be having problems at some point in the future when we are out more with making sure that we don’t double book (and when around 90% of the appointments are the daily reminders to start cooking dinner – that can be real problem to double book when appointments are that rare).

Analog calendars are best. All the electronic eyes do not need to see my business.

Two more weeks and Cosco opens their new store, which is much closer to our house and the parking lot has THREE entrances and TWO exits!

There’re calendars that take batteries? Do the kittens need hearing aids?

A ‘plugger’ just has to worry about keeping the ‘battery’ in his brain charged so he doesn’t forget ! ! ! !

Well, it does not look like baseball will have an Opening Day this year so it might as well be a hardware store.

I have an iPad, a MacBook, and an iPhone, so if I put something on one device calendar it will be on all three devices. I like that.
