Reminds me of these poor cute waiting (or whinning) puppies you see longingly stare at a shop’s door for the excuriating 5 minutes their owners are inside.

My Sheltie has separation anxiety…she goes crazy when I leave the house for a couple hours. I’ve tried everything and nothing works for with her. It breaks my heart. :-(

I walk my dog every morning for miles. She is way too tired to have separation anxiety when I have to leave. Not all dogs are the high energy hunting dogs, I get that. I am not even sure what I pulled out of her mouth today, but my best guess is some sort of very old bone. I also offer a small treat when I leave, so she is excited when I am getting ready to go out, and another one when I get home. She always has something to look forward to that way. But I rarely ever leave her more than 6 hours.

It does make sense, since dogs, as well any related canines, do have a shorter lifespan than humans.

This explains why, when I’m gone for 30 minutes, my dog acts like I’ve been gone for days.

But surely that’s only seven dog minutes.
