Labradors and Lab mixes are generally ok with cats. It might be the cat that has the problems with the dog. We. have 3 Lab/Newfie mixes and 5 cats and they all get along. Just as long as the doggos keep their noses out of the cats’ food bowls/plates.
My SIL’s dog was 3/4 Saint Bernard/1/4Mastiff. Saint Bernards will do what you tell them, maybe, after the third time. If you’re lucky. It was a very dumb dog and it would plow through anyone to get where it wanted to go. And its owner was good at training dogs! But not that one so much.

Ginger, be thankful that the St. Bernard, doesn’t realize he can reach you on top of the refrigerator.

Lennie, I expect that experience provided you with many ideas for strips. You are a good friend of these folks. Also a glutton for punishment…

When my dog was a puppy my cat bopped him on the nose. Now he leaves all cats alone.
