Today is:

National Chocolate Covered Nut Day

National Clam Chowder Day

National Skip The Straw Day. I use straws so seldom, I still haven’t finished using up the package of 100 straws that I bought about 15 years ago or so. I probably have about 30 straws left from that package.

In response to all the comments about bowling yesterday, I LOVE bowling! I even have my own ball and bowling shoes, but I’m not sure if those shoes will fit me anymore. I haven’t been bowling in years. I had a favorite bowling alley where I used to go. They had an offer we couldn’t refuse, so my younger brother, Daniel and I joined a summer league two years in a row (this was a long, long time ago!). They offered free open bowling – no limits – all summer long for the duration of the league. I think it ran about 8-10 weeks. It was so long ago, I can’t remember for sure now. We did a LOT of free bowling those 2 summers. I never got to be a great bowler, but we sure had fun. The bowling alley owners matched people up for teams and we got on a team with 3 senior citizens who never really cared about winning. They were in it for the fun, just like we were. I forgot our team name the first year, but the second year, we named our team the Gutter Dusters. We were given handicaps according to our bowling averages, so we were able to compete with the better bowlers. On the final night, we had a potluck banquet where my brownies were a big hit. We even won a little prize money the second year we were in the league. Such wonderful memories! Sadly, the owner later sold the bowling alley and now it’s a “gentlemen’s club” (nudie bar).

It’s you, Chesney. You are the orange blimp.

There’s a little pub over in Stockholm, Maine that has a long history of being used for many purposes. At one time, it was a small bowling alley….and now the alley is under your feet when you sit at the bar. They never bothered to tear it out….just built on top of it.

What will Oliver’s answer be?

Duh. I just realize that color has returned to the strip! I guess Graham is picking them in a miscellaneous manner! ;-)

Is that plump or fluffy? Both?

This is going to be a fun weekend. We’re both sick, different symptoms. Went to the doc this morning and got the covid results back= both neg. YAY! Now, it’s time for my lunch and drugs; the codeine cough syrup will put me out.

Can’t say I blame the mice for calling him an orange blimp. He is full of hot air, after all. (Still not very nice, though.) On another note, saw two finches while out walking today.

The only “orange blimp” I’d sooner hear about would be for the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.
