Make a list of chores in order of priority and set yourself a time limit. When the time is up, go to bed, even if you haven’t completed the list.
Or are you both obsessive compulsive? (And before anyone writes a withering comment, I have a tendency toward OCD myself. Nothing serious, but just a slight tendency that way.)
