Wally always appeared to have a good soul and tried to do what was right. For lack of more information this episode, maybe he is becoming an angel (of sorts)?
Quick to blame? Geez, maybe it’s because you never explain anything but know everything, Marx; like, can John Cena see why kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch?
I wonder how much longer the strip will be? Or, is that..taller? The strip format has been changing since January (I think someone else mentioned that the 4 panels had gone away). Along with the disappearing panels, the strip is no longer “square”. It has been getting taller. Today’s is the tallest so far. This is pretty cool. But I wonder how much extra work this is making for Mr. Neathery. The previous format was partly a product of his drawing/working area. He was drawing the strip on paper, then scanning it, not drawing it digitally, though he added digital effects.
I usually love speculating on what is happening, but this is hard.
This doesn’t seem like Ted. It is more like something….else…has control of the dittos at the moment. Could this be the Oracle? Or whatever is in charge of the nexus fountain?
In the Christian mythology Satan (uber bad guy, eternal screw up, quick to blame others {sound like anyone you know?}, all around bad actor) appears as “an angel of light”: Aaron’s art work here is superb! All of that dark leading up to a spreading pillar of light!!
By copying the image and then use Preview on my mac to change the exposure, I see that in the third frame from the bottom that Wally has coughed up a “hairball” of shimmering material which gets whiter and taller as we go through the two lowest frames. As to what it is, I haven’t a clue. It is suggestive of an angel, but who but Aaron Neathery knows?
When the guys got dropped on this plane, things went really cosmic.
Wally and the others are there but not in view, unless they are the darker material at the base of the “angel”
I wonder if this is Aaron’s way of transitioning Wally out of the strip? He’s been the longest-lasting character BY FAR (next to Marx) and Endtown has always been driven by storylines and not personalities. Will Duffy become the “main” character for a while if that’s the case? I don’t see Alan or Squawks in that role.
With Aaron saying “Well, Well…” I got the impression he knows exactly who came out. In fact with Wally’s response to Aaron’s remark about the “cookie indecent” Aaron knew there was something wrong with Wally. Now with this and $10US you can get a venti coffee af StarRucks.
Whatever that thing is…it isn’t nice, regardless of the wings. I think it’s been hiding inside Wally for some time. I’ve been trying to figure out when Wally might have become “infected”. Taking a quick look back, I’m guessing it was when Wally met Ravenscroft. That thing was powerful in or around Eden. Wally passed out soon after his meeting and then “It” came out and threatened Kirbee and Chic. The thing also had enough power to snatch Ravenscroft later. Maybe it didn’t need Ravenscroft any more since it had found Wally. heh…just guessing, as usual. Here’s where Wally Met Ravenscroft: https://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2019/04/12

Definitely looks like a Phoenix, I hope it will be a rebirth of Wally. Maybe we can get a rebirth of Blackie, she is my all time favorite character.

The way things are going, it seems unlikely that that will be a good angel…
But AM’s appearances usually mean that one should expect… well, actually, better not to have any expectations!

Remember, dittos can look like anything they want to. There really isn’t a “true form.”

There’s not one mention of how Duffy is concerned for Wally? Give him credit for speaking up to Aaron in spite of not knowing who he is.
