Actually, most of what we consider fairy tales have been sanitized from the originals to a large degree.

Hammie is probably thinking of Velociraptor as depicted in the Jurassic Park movies, which were highly exaggerated. Real velociraptors were only about the size of a turkey and running on turkey-sized legs wouldn’t have made them all that speedy. A normal adult could probably outrun one.
