I’m surprised Wilberforce didn’t ask why rats are being put in a vegetable stew.

Just tell Wilburforce that potatoes are vegetables. That’ll change his mind.

There goes his appetite and mine. I like stew but it’s got to have beef and or lamb.

Ratatoville? Is that a misspelling of Rat a too vile? I think I’d pass on a stew that has the words vile and rats in it.

With a name like Ratatouille you’d think there’d be some kind of meat in it.

Their kitchen looks a lot like my doctor’s office. The only thing missing is the snap of a surgical glove.

Anybody read King Rat lately?

I made ratatouille last month, just because. It was okay. Basically roasted vegetables with marinara sauce.

Did the kid inherit his father’s nickname “Born Loser Jr.”?

must not be very good… what’s wrong with vegie stew? besides being healthy… or is that the problem?

This may inspire Wilberforce to learn to cook. Or to make enough to eat out when he wants. Avoid (one of) Dad’s mistakes.

The kid has been there and done that!

Hope Brutus did not try that all you can eat Diner dump again… Shrimp lunch. Gonna be hungry coming home to lap up veggie soup dinner. Where’s the BEEF? I am with Wilberforce. Grandpa said – if you can’t make a sandwich (biscuits/cornbread/flour bread back then) with leftovers – you didn’t eat nothing. My wife still makes up biscuits or cornbread or flour bread almost ever day at age 84. I am blessed. Over fed.

Whoever named it, didn’t do it any favors… Same as Uranus… ☺

Mother’s always have recipes that aren’t necessarily as good as others. However, since you haven’t tried it yet, hold your opinion until after you try it. However, be prepared to eat a lot of bread, butter and salad just in case….

I bet Wilberforce thinks dinner is going to be prepared by a rat chef…

In my early years the only way I ate meat or vegetables was via polk salad scrambled with eggs. Protein, vitamins, other goodies from the mix. Doctor’s orders. Of course the doctor did not understand reality. Easier to eat and nothing else tasted good.

It’s a lot better than it sounds… but then it would have to be.

No Mom, YOU spoiled my appetite!

The only ratatouille I’d look forward to would be the animated film about a rat in the kitchen.
