Republicans* STILL believe the invasion of Iraq was totally justified.

And there were widespread undetectable nucular weapons.

Shrub (bless the memory of Molly Ivins) likely never would have been governor of Texas if the Bushes hadn’t been taking revenge on Ann Richards (bless that other Texas gal as well) for her “poor George” speech at the Democratic National Convention. (https://youtu.be/wtIFhiqS_TY?t=1091 to hear her raking George H. W. Bush over the coals – the entire speech is a wonderful piece of American political rhetoric.)

How sad is it that this moron, who MIGHT have made a semi-competent Middle School Principal, was at one time “Leader of the Free World”, and how much SADDER is it that even as stupid as HE was, that Hair Furor turned out to be EVEN STUPIDER…and some people STILL want him back in office??

This cartoon captures how crazy things can get. Think about it. I’m pretty sure that most historians agree that it was Dick Cheney who pushed W to go into Iraq. And now Dick’s daughter, who indeed used to symbolize all that liberals hated about conservatives, is considered, by those same liberals, to be a voice of reason in a sea of numb-nut Republicans. In other words, after consuming healthy portions, every day, of the last president, his family, Mike Flynn, Roger Stone, Paul Manafort, Kellyanne Conway, Rudy Giuliani, Steve Bannon, Tucker Carlsen, Sean Hannity, Jeanine Pirro, Lara Logan, M.T. Green, Lauren Boebert, Kristi Noem, Matt Gaetz, Paul Gosar, Mo Brooks, Kevin McCarthy, Mitch McConnell, Marsha Blackburn, Lindsey Graham, Ron Johnson, Josh Hawley, Ron DeSantis, anti-vaxxers, Q-Anonners, white supremacists, white evangelicals, empty-heads who think that making social media comments makes them experts on everything from epidemiology to Russian history to inflation, and the My Pillow guy(apologies to those qualified to be included here that I left out), I truly find it real difficult to generate any negative thoughts about ol’ W.

I said a few times during the previous administration that it made me long for the quiet thoughtfulness and mental prowess of one G. W. Bush.

2004 me would have considered me brainwashed.

And we never dreamed that just 8 years later, we’d someone who made that evil dolt look like a saintly genius.
