@Ling Today’s strip IS funny but a repeat , our HERO Mr Andrew Capp , being tempted to push The sarcastic Vicar into the canal is priceless ;o) . my avatar again is a picture of Rowan Atkinson as Mr Bea, grinning because he is in a good mood like I am , come passerai la vostra Domenicha mio meno vecchio amicho sinchero , our Sunday Should be quite calm , we both are in a good mood , no early morning drive , no shopping to run or errands to run just stay in the house and keep hydrated because it’s raining outside , and wait till 9.30 when we will watch our archbishop celebrate the Holy Mass on television keep safe and a bientot pal

The vicar, should write a parable about fishing, and add it to his sermon.

    Today is Sunday.

Why isn’t the Vicar in church preaching the “values” of hard work and clean living??

pretty certain most of the Anglers I’ve known just want to escape the house and have a few beers by their conversations

Too bad that Andy doesn’t get much fish. The nutritionists are telling me that eating lots of fish is good food for the brain. (And Andy sure could use all the help he can get.) I figure if that is true, it must be because the fish are always in school.

The top one reminds me of the Kit Kat Panda advert from the 90s. It’s hilarious. See it here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeduBcf_hPM

Andy could probably identify with the fish in an old Bing Crosby song:

“Fish is an animal who swims in a brook,

He can’t write his name or read a book,

To fool the people is his only thought,

Although he’s slippery, he still gets caught."

He wouldn’t be caught by Andy.

God-botherers should should leave people with a task alone… an occupied person at the edge of a canal has more means of redress than a bothered deity.

The man has clearly been there for quite awhile. Where are all the empty beer bottles? There should be at least 5 or 6 dead soldiers on the ground around him. You can’t fish properly without beer. Andy Capp should know better.

The “fish” you see in the cartoon are actually made of green plastic.

I missed the part in Hemingway’s classic with an English vicar in a purple suit . . .

To pass the time, Andy could read “The Old Man and the Sea”, although I have a feeling that “McElligot’s Pool” is more his speed………

Go ahead and do it, Andy. It would serve him right for being such a smart aleck.
