Ugh my brother had a hideous Freddy Krueger mask! My grandparents had this outdoor cellar, it was small very dark & musty. Well he’d chase us into it wearing that mask & shut us in & scratch on the door while he held it shut & we screamed! Then when he opened it he always had his eyelids flipped inside out -so gross & scary to little girls! Ah the joys of having an older brother lol
I never watched the movie – but from the posters I’ve seen, Freddy used only his hands & not claws on his feet. That cat is using claws on all four of its paws. (I only see three, but I’m assuming he’d use all four if he got inside the door.)
The more you think about your predicament, Pilsner, the more likely you are to freak out, allowing Mittens to claw his (her?) way in and do That Thing you’ve so graphically described!…

Our cat leaves the entrails on the mat, but doesn’t decapitate them.

Mine would leave half a rat on my front mat. Always the lower half. Was he trying to tell me something?

My cat would keep them alive for when he gave them to my mother, he seemed to think she needed training for hunting.

We had one cat who made us frequent gifts of outdoor birds, and couldn’t understand why we weren’t more grateful. But she never brought us a parrot.

Someone’s cat has been leaving mice for us. I haven’t told the boss. I suspect we might have to move if she found out.

Mittens knows who’s runnin’ things. Gotta leave a “little taste.”
