Abraham Lincoln did a lot of television PSAs during his term.

Epic Rap battles of History (YouTube) does political rap battles of famous politicians, and Lincoln usually shows up and shames them. Deservedly so.

Amen! Amen! Lincoln believed above all else that our country could flourish and prosper for all only through the participation of all in our democracy. And now 157 years after his death, the party of Lincoln has become the party of oligarchy with no use for democracy.

Meanwhile the GOP is pulling out of the presidential debates so Rat should be very happy not to have to listen to the candidates actually expressing their ideas to each other and the voters while having to answer questions under pressure.

This is one time when the commercial was better than the show, for sure!

Oh, we began committing suicide back in the 1920s, by giving up something that the Founders knew was vital to a country of free people governed only by a piece of paper and themselves. Of course, deprivation of this sort is a slow way to die, and something as large as a nation has a lot of momentum, but the rot and fungus we let in has been growing and now we’re seeing the fruiting bodies pop up like mushrooms along with calls for more and more government by government agencies.

Stephan; I thought myself fairly educated, but I regret that this speech was never taught in school, or college(in general education classes). I see this speech carrying as much as or more weight as ’ The Gettysburg Address’. Foretelling events that were to come! I only wish I had been a better more curious student, in my youth.
