Not being particularly knowledgeable about Gumby, I had to do some research to learn he has a horse named Pokey. Only then did the comic make sense. I suspect most people had the same problem but didn’t take the time to decipher it.
You do not even want to know how Prickle got his.
I always thought he was a slow pony.
