That’s what I used to say “Oh sorry, I already had plans”. My plans were not to go into work, chill out, take care of myself, etc. , but you don’t owe them any explanation or details, it is your day off and your choice. Took me a bit to get over feeling guilty about it, but now I know I am allowed to take care of myself.
