I had a dog who threw up every time I took her in the car. Needless to say, I avoided taking her for rides. My vet was 2 miles away, it was time for a visit. I considered walking her there, decided to drive. We made it and I was so proud until I looked under my seat in the waiting room. Over time, she did grow out of it and loved the car rides.
Poor Buckles! Their veterinarian could prescribe something for that. There are various generic brands of Dimenhydrinate. Dramamine is one, but possibly not the best one for pets.

I had a mother cat and 2 kittens that puked every day for 20 years. Mess to clean up, but I still love them.
