Wow! The power of fish even makes them forget the constant dinging

Still got a tiny ding goin’ on…….All are super excited over baked fish!

I always love it when Lupin’s so excited he throws his notes in the air.

The important news is what sort, guys. Cod? Haddock? Basa? We need investigative paws to tell us!

High hopes I got high hopes! I got high apple pie in the sky hopes.

That’s more or less what Bagheera would do whenever I had chicken…or Mom had green olives. Weirdo. LOL.

Whoever actually watches the newscast now has to put up with dings.

I hope she made extra! My fish market always gave me a pound and a quarter when I asked for a pound, and the kitties got some of that. Now they are giving me tuna trimmings as well.

We like tuna sammies and I don’t care what’s in the pantry, I only have to get within three feet of that can of tuna and Loaner Cat comes running! I can go for a can of tomatoes, corn, green beans, doesn’t matter, but all I have to do it *think about the tuna and she’s between my feet! What is up with that??

The best/worst thing about having a two tier kitchen island is that it’s a proper perch for a cat to oversea the entire cooking operation.

Cook fish on Sunday, still smell the aroma in the kitchen on Wednesday. The fish bouquet has staying power.

Fresh: Hi, there Thomios. What can we do ya for?

Thomios: Bea and Vi just came back from the Great Pyramid with a classic cookbook. I’m looking for some seafood with a certain je ne sais quoi.

Salty: I think we can help you there. We have some Nile tilapia that’s always a treat. And maybe some fresh tuna.

Thomios: Sounds like just the thing. You want to come to the fish feast tonight?

Fresh: We’d love to. What have you decided for dessert?

Thomios: Well, I’ve decided to make it a surprise. Somehow I think whatever I need will magically appear in the pantry.

Salty: Yeah, I heard some giggling around the marketplace a few minutes ago.

Nothing like fish to forget the bell.

I love how we have multiple hanging storylines. What will happen with Lupin’s bell? Who will move in downstairs? Will the BPH be saved? But right now, there is baked fish!

My cats don’t seem to react to fish much. They’ll eat canned cat food with fish in it, but they’re i different to fish that we cook for ourselves.

I see Lupin still has his bell.

Nobody managed to remove it while he napped, and it hasn’t made the Woman or the Man crazy yet.

Today’s strip is based on a personal comic from my journals that I have shared a few times over the years. As the kids have begun to enjoy Lord of the Rings, I wanted to go back and make it an official part of BCN. I did do this, and did it for many years… and it worked! Though Gollum is the Girl’s favorite 10x over, and she sees the movies as an epic tale about one more poor creature trying to get its property back from two thieves (filthy hobbitsies! ) Anyway… highly recommend!!

Mmm, I love me some baked fish!

Let’s get real. They have two small children. It’s fish sticks.

“This just in. Cats like fish.”

I respect fish as a food group for other people, but after a bad encounter with it as a child (it’s always bad news when the phrase “both ends” is involved), can’t stand the smell or taste of it. All seafood got tarred with the same taste aversion brush, too.

In a three way race for the fish, it’s Goldie by a paw, but Puck may have an inside track. Given all the white in the final two panels, Invisible Lupin is probably in contention somewhere.

I have one who will murder for sushi-grade tuna. None of the others care at all, probably because it’s not, well, fishy enough…. But the cat in my profile picture won’t leave me in peace if there’s sushi in the house!

I hope Pucky is going to tell himself to play it cool. Just like the last time I remember him donning a bib (for wet food Wednesday).

These reports sound fishy to me.

What’s the dish?

Yes, I know. Fish. But that’s the MAIN ingreident, not the dish itself. Is it a fish chowder, a fish pie, baked fish, a risoto with fish, a fish pallea, some fish pasta dish, what? And what fish has it been made with. WE MUST KNOW!!!!!
