She sounds like my spendthrift sister. Back in the 60s, my dad got a phone call from a ham radio operator in Ontario to forward a message from a ham radio priest in Peru: “Send money – we spent it all!”
Most people forget that a credit card is NOT free money. All you are doing is delaying having to pay by using someone else’s money. You have to pay it all eventually…with interest. I use one then pay it off immediately so I get the points. I never have a balance for more than one day.
Given the way modern colleges operate, why do students need spring breaks? Class attendance seems to be optional. There are few limits on time-to-degree, so ‘students’ get to stretch the college experience as long as they want to. Seems like life in the dorms is already about as relaxed as one can ask. And the colleges love not having to maintain them for that week. Where’s the pressure from which they claim the need for release?
