God! How did our parents survive not having contact with us for 9 hours straight?

A “rule” that should have been set up the night before instead of just before when school starts?

They are so annoying at that age.

My, my, my what would parents like these have done in the 50’s and 60’s when kids roamed until the streets came on or they heard their parents calling for them.

Any leftover pay phones in t hat school?

Those parents are going to scare the kids. You don’t have to worry about them every minute. The kids will think there is danger everywhere.

I was a latch key kid back in the 50’s and 60’s. When I got home the first thing I had to do was call my Mum. If I didn’t, the phone started ringing in about 10 minutes. The only acceptable excuse for failing this essential job was an urgent need to use the bathroom.
